If I did... – druhý kondicionál (A2)
If I had done... – třetí kondicionál (A2)

If you will be so kind and share the umbrella. = Budete tak hodný a podělíte se o deštník?

Žádost:	If you will be so kind and share the umbrella.
Kondicionál:	If it will rain rains, I will share the umbrella.

Budete tak hodný a podělíte se o deštník?

If you will be so kind and share the umbrella.

V klasických kondicionálech obvykle nepoužíváme IF + WILL/WOULD:

If you sign it tomorrow, we will finally set up our own business.	Pokud to zítra podepíšeš, konečně si založíme vlastní firmu.
If you signed it, we would celebrate.	Pokud bys to podespal, oslavovali bychom.

Nikoliv: If you WILL sign..., If you WOULD sign...

V jiných případech můžeme IF + WILL/WOULD použít:

Žádost:

If you will sign at the bottom of the page.
Kdybyste se mi podepsal laskavě v dolní části stránky.
Důsledková věta:

If it will be easier for you, I'll sign it today.
Když to pro vás bude jednodušší, tak to podepíšu dnes.
Určitě se to stane:

If you will be busy tomorrow, why don't you sign it on Friday?
Když zítra nemáte čas, co takhle to podepsat v pátek?
Předmětná věta:

I don't know if I will sign it.
Nevím, jestli to podepíšu.

IF + SHOULD nemá žádné omezení:

If you should sign it tomorrow, we will set up a business.

Pokud to snad zítra podepíšeš, založíme si firmu.

If you go to the gym next week, I'll come along.

Kondicionál:

If you will go, I'll come along.

If I will see her, I'll say hi.

Pokud půjdeš příští týden do posilovny, půjdu s tebou.

If you go to the gym next week, I'll come along.

If I had more time, I'd learn another foreign language.

Kondicionál:

If I would have had time, I'd learn it.

If I would have had had had time, I'd have learned it.

Kdybych měla víc času, naučila bych se další cizí jazyk.

Pokud o něco zdvořile žádáme, použijeme IF + WILL/WOULD. WOULD je o něco zdvořilejší a formálnější než WILL:

If you will bring me my tool box, I'll fix the chair.	Když budeš tak hodný a přineseš mi krabici s nářadím, tak židli opravím.
If they would be so kind as to help us with the table.	Byli by tak hodní a pomohli nám laskavě se stolem?

I wonder if you would be so kind as to show me to the director's office.

Zdvořilá žádost:	If you will be so kind...
Velmi zdvořilá žádost:	If you would be so kind...

Byl byste tak laskavý a ukázal mi, jak se dostanu do kanceláře ředitele?

I wonder if you would be so kind as to show me to the director's office.

If you will join us for dinner on Friday, we would be honored.

Zdvořilá žádost:

If you will join us...

Kdybyste s námi v pátek povečeřeli, byla by to pro nás velká pocta.

Velmi zdvořilá/formální žádost:

I would like to ask you if you would consider it.

Chtěla bych požádat o zvýšení platu, pokud byste to zvážil.

Pokud je vedlejší věta s IF důsledkem hlavní věty, můžeme použít WILL:

Have some more tea if it will help you get warm. (= You'll have more tea. → That will help you get warmer.)

Dej si ještě trochu čaje, když ti pomůže zahřát se.

If it'll make you happy, I'll have my hair dyed pink.

Mluvíme o důsledku:

If it'll make you happy, I'll do it.

(= I'll do it. → That will make you happy.)

Pokud ti to udělá radost, obarvím si vlasy na růžovo.

If it'll make you happy, I'll have my hair dyed pink.

I'll go there with you if it will make you feel more confident.

Mluvíme o důsledku:

I'll go there if it will help you.

(= I'll go there. → That will help you.)

Půjdu tam s tebou, jestli se díky tomu budeš cítit sebejistěji.

Když víme, že se něco určitě stane a nejedná se tedy o klasický kondicionál, můžeme použít WILL:

I know you're busy tomorrow. If I won't see you, will you call me?

Vím, že zítra budeš zaneprázdněný. Když (= Protože) se s tebou neuvidím, zavoláš mi?

Adam won't be able to finish the project today. If he won't finish it, I can do that.

Určitě se stane:

If he won't finish it, I can do that.

Adam dnes projekt nestihne dokončit. Pokud ho nedokončí on, můžu to udělat já.

Adam won't be able to finish the project today. If he won't finish it, I can do that.

Chantal has to work on Sunday. If she'll be working, she won't come to the lake with us.

Určitě se stane:

If she'll be working, she won't go.

Chantal musí v neděli pracovat. Jestliže bude pracovat, nepojede s námi k jezeru.

V předmětných větách, které nahrazují předmět slovesa, můžeme použít IF + WILL/WOULD. Porovnejte:

I don't know that.	Nevím to.
I don't know if I will* make it on time.*	Nevím, jestli to stihnu.

They didn't tell me anything.	Nic mi neřekli.
They didn't tell me if they would* need a ride*.	Neřekli mi, jestli budou potřebovat odvoz.

V předmětných větách lze často místo IF použít WHETHER:

I don't know whether I will make it on time.

They didn't tell me whether they would need it.

We don't know yet if we'll fly to Portugal this year.

We don't know if we'll fly.

We don't know whether we'll fly.

Ještě nevíme, zda tento rok pojedeme to Portugalska.

Zjistíš, jestli by byla oprava kola drahá?

SHOULD vyjadřuje v kondicionálech pochybnost a nejistotu, proto se často překládá jako – náhodou; snad; možná:

If you should want to talk to me, here is my number.	Pokud byste se mnou snad chtěl mluvit, tady je moje číslo.
Do not hesitate to contact our office if you should have any further questions.	Kontaktujte naši kancelář, pokud byste měli náhodou nějaké další otázky.

Ve formální angličtině můžeme IF v kondicionálech vynechat. SHOULD používáme místo IF v prvním kondicionálu:

If you ask him, he will help you.

Should you ask him, he will help you.

Should the weather be nice, we might go camping over the weekend.

Běžná angličtina:	If the weather is nice...
Formální angličtina:	Should the weather be nice...

Pokud bude hezké počasí, možná pojedeme o víkendu kempovat.

WOULD, WILL a SHOULD v kondicionálech a po IF – nejdůležitější body a tip na závěr:

V klasických kondicionálech obvykle nepoužíváme IF + WILL/WOULD.
V jiných případech můžeme IF + WILL/WOULD použít (žádost, důsledková a předmětná věta...).
IF + SHOULD nemá žádné omezení.
